PRE-KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM

Our Pre-kindergarten program bridges the gap between preschool and kindergarten. It is designed to boost school readiness by teaching letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills. With our small-group instruction, independent play in an organized atmosphere, and whole-group activities, children will have all the right skills to hop, skip, and jump into kindergarten.

The most important skills and attitudes your child can hope to bring to kindergarten are enthusiasm for learning, confidence in their ability to solve problems, the ability to function as a member of a team or group, the ability to follow directions and basic self-care such as keeping track of one’s belongings and personal hygiene. Our program encourage these skills with everything we do.

Every day in our pre-kindergarten program children participate in:

  • whole-group instruction

  • small-group activities

  • child-directed play in learning centers

  • skill-building activities for additional practice and development in core skill areas

Community Programs

In addition to our daily Pre-K curriculum, the program integrates learning and exploration with community partners.

  • Miss Laura visits us once a week and leads our dance activities.

  • Mr. Chance from the Wilton Library visits us twice a month and provides hands on educational literacy to our students.

  • We walk to the Wilton Library twice a month.

  • At times we participate in local events representing the early learners of the community.

Pre-K Schedule Options

  • Our half day program runs 8:00am-11:00am

  • Our full day program integrates the pre-k program within our full day child care hours of 6:30am-5:30pm.
